About Michael G. Harvey

“Knowledge, when shared with purpose, becomes the bridge between past wisdom and future resilience.”

Who I Am

I am an 83-year-old retired civil engineer with a lifelong commitment to community service, education, and the preservation of knowledge.
My professional journey spans decades and continents, grounded in cost control, planning, scheduling, and project management—skills I honed while working across Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas.

A Passion Beyond Engineering

In parallel, I have pursued a deep and enduring passion for history, finance, and economic thought, shaped by more than a decade of global research and observation.
This journey has culminated in the creation of The Horizon Knowledge Gateway—a multidisciplinary platform set to launch soon, dedicated to connecting the past, present, and future through knowledge.

The Horizon Knowledge Gateway

The Horizon Knowledge Gateway brings together timeless insights across:

History and Geopolitics

Finance and Economics

Construction and Engineering

Science, Sustainability, and the Cosmos

Human Resilience and Spiritual Inquiry

It is designed to engage readers of all generations, offering free access to foundational content and a premium tier of subscription-based material to support ongoing research, production, and outreach.

My Professional Legacy

In my engineering career, I served as the founding member and former Chairman of the Association for Project Management’s Planning Special Interest Group (APM Planning SIG).
I have also lectured extensively at the postgraduate level on project management, scheduling techniques, and systems integration, delivering seminars and courses at institutions such as:

University College London – The Bartlett School of Graduate Studies

Cranfield University

The Malaysian Institute of Civil Engineers

The Romanian Association of Civil Engineers (by invitation of the Institution of Civil Engineers, ICE)

Philosophy

This fusion of historical curiosity and professional discipline defines my approach.
Whether in civil infrastructure, economic history, or philosophical inquiry, I hold firm to a guiding belief:
“Knowledge, when shared with purpose, becomes the bridge between past wisdom and future resilience.”
